'Hawaii Five-0' Star Daniel Dae Kim Swears by This Post-Workout Product (2024)

As someone who enjoys doing some form of exercise every day (he aims to "work out every body part"), Daniel says he's been trying to focus more on recovery. When he feels his joints aching, he uses this topical pain reliever as part of his routine.

"I've found when you're feeling pain, it's important to address it early, before it gets worse," he tells Good Housekeeping. "I try to be aware of what parts of my body need attention and apply the product as needed."

Since Daniel lives in Hawaii when not working, making sure to wear sunscreen is an essential for his day-to-day life. "Sunscreen is important to me," he shares. "I live in Hawaii and if you don't put sunscreen on, your face is really going to feel it."

This Rodan + Fields face and body sunscreen took the "Best Overall" spot on the Good Housekeeping Institute's list of the best sunscreens of 2024, tested by scientists.

Daniel credits his wife Mia for helping him create a skincare regimen, along with "any kind of benefits [he] enjoys" from it. She introduced him to this bar soap that's been a staple in his routine for almost 30 years.

"I carry it with me when I travel because it's incredibly mild," he reveals. "It's very gentle, but cleanses my skin really well."

No matter where Daniel is located for work, he likes to incorporate this washcloth (along with bar soap) into his shower routine.

"It's a nylon skin bath washcloth – it's not gentle to the touch, it's very rough," he explains. "It's actually a little bit like sandpaper, but it really sloughs off those excess layers of skin."

Since Daniel's schedule can be irregular while working on set, he reaches for one of these protein bars as a quick way to satisfy his hunger.

"I look for healthy snacks to keep me going in between meals, like protein bars," he says. "It's a good way of keeping my energy up and my mind clear."

While working out, Daniel is big on making sure to keep his wellness goals in mind. That's when he turns to his fitness tracker, which he says "measures my steps and gives me real-time diagnostics on how I'm doing."
